It's a picnic. There's a run, there's yoga, and there are poems. You can skip all three.
We're indoors this month. Britannia Park, right by the lake. Same thing we've been doing all summer, with a roof on it and heat, because it's October and I'd rather not watch 300 people shiver through a poem.
The run is 0 to 5k. That isn't a typo. You pick the number. Five kilometres, two, or zero. Zero is a real option and people take it. Nobody is timing anybody and there is no finish line. That part is still outside, so dress for it. Layers, a hat, socks you don't hate.
There's yoga if running isn't your thing. Led by @sydflows. Inside or outside depending on what the weather is doing that morning.
The poems come after. Bring one if you have one, yours or someone else's, and it's allowed to be bad. Nobody is judging and nobody is being graded. There's a mic so you don't have to shout.
The picnic is the whole time. Bring something to eat. Sitting there for three hours without running a step or reading a word is a completely valid way to attend, and it's what most people do. There are real chairs this time. Bring a blanket anyway if the floor is more your thing.
Run goes at 9. Poems around 10:30. If you're only here for one of them, just show up for that one.
It's free. It has always been free and it's staying free.
The part where I mention money.
Everything that comes in goes straight back into the event. The space, the sound, the chairs, the coffee, the snacks, and whatever else makes the morning better. I'll do my best to find us some sponsors too, but please feel free to bring whatever you want - I'll announce any sponsors/ donations on my social platforms.
There are two paid tiers below if you're in a position to help cover that. If you're not, take the free ticket and come anyway. That isn't me being polite, it's the actual point of the whole thing. Nobody who pays gets a better spot, because there are no better spots.
Grab a ticket either way, cap is 300 people. Set the quantity to the number of people you're bringing/ buying tickets for.
